A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, PART 3
When Batman recruited Black Lightning to join the Outsiders, he warned him of the dark world he was entering. Black Lightning shrugged it off, but now that Ra’s al Ghul has gone after him directly, the darkness Batman warned of has enveloped him. Will the Outsiders be able to free him from it?
What I’m Excited For…
This series has been more of a Black Lightning and assorted Bat-Family book than anything, and I am happy with that. We have too many Bat-Books as it is, though I understand the need for the branding. All this is a long winded way of say I’m excited for Black Lightning to tango with a high level rogue like Ra’s al Ghul.
What I Thought
While Sofia continues her search for Identity, and the remaining Outsiders plan to take the fight to Ra’s, Jefferson makes the mother of all stupid decisions. I get it, he wants to prove he isn’t Batman, that he’s willing to go places that The Dark Knight can’t…that’s all well and good but SHIVA!? C’mon man, that’s a high order Bat-Family No-No. Never trust Lady Shiva. Seriously, it never ends well.
The encounter plays out pretty much how you’d expect, glib threats and casual violence before the other shoe drops and Jefferson finds himself and his Outsiders in a world of hurt. Could’ve told you THAT was going to happen…
